The Ex-Chief Justice Ranganath Misra, the chairman of the National Commission for Religious and Linguistic Minorities, established by the Government of India, admitted this fact in his report in May 2007 that at the time of Independence some categories were omitted inadvertently in sanctioning reservation to them and, the Muslims of Mewat area were also among them. By giving reservation to the Hindus (Meena fraternity) of Mewat, the Government of India paved the way of progress for them, but the Muslims of Mewat were neglected by all the governments due to which 92 per cent Muslim population continued to be backward in every sphere of life.
